I have had the privilege of a long career in higher education—as a teacher, researcher, and university leader. Over this time, I have seen first-hand both the strengths of our academic systems and the challenges faced by the next generation of academic staff.
The expectations placed on academic staff continue to evolve rapidly. Excellence in teaching, research, and global engagement is no longer optional—it is essential. Yet, across many institutions, structured support for developing these capabilities remains limited.
AIFE was established in response to this need, with a clear purpose: to support universities and their academic staff in building the capabilities required for success in an increasingly interconnected and international higher education environment.
Today, AIFE works with partner universities around the world to co-develop and deliver programs that integrate academic development, student pathways, and transnational education. Through this collaborative model, we aim to strengthen both institutional capacity and individual academic practice.
At the heart of AIFE is a commitment to academic excellence, collaboration, and innovation. By bringing together experienced educators, researchers, and institutions, we are building a platform that supports the development of globally connected academic communities.
